The Associated Students of °µÍø½ûÇø (ASWU) is a student government organization that serves a constituency of over 1,500 fee-paying students attending °µÍø½ûÇø’s College of Arts & Sciences. With historical documents dating as far back as 1936, ASWU has served to promote the general welfare of the student body through responsibly facilitating the following processes:
- The approval of student clubs.
- The oversight of budgeted allocations to student organizations.
- The supervision of complex student organizations, called External Programs, that play extensive roles in student life.
- The collaboration and communication with campus administrators to promote sentiments of the student body.
- The organization of student forums to gauge student concerns on a variety of topics.
- The adoption of senate projects through which senators focus on specific changes they want to see on campus.
- The administration of ASWU elections and appointments.
Governance Structure
