The Niagara IceDogs added to their forward depth Tuesday acquiring winger Blake Arrowsmith from the London Knights in exchange for three draft picks.
Heading to London are a 2026 third-round pick (Brantford), a 2028 third-round pick (Niagara) and a 2025 sixth-round pick (Sarnia).
“Complete player,” IceDogs general manager Wes Consorti said when asked about Arrowsmith. “Big. Plays well in all three zones and just adds another layer to our forward group. He’s going to fit in nicely with lots of opportunity for him to grow as a player.
“Just excited to add a guy like that.”
The IceDogs have been hit by injuries up front with forwards Alex Assadourian and Mathieu Paris missing multiple games although both are on the mend.
Arrowsmith, a 17-year-old native of Atlanta, had four goals and six points in 15 games for the Knights this season.
Arrowsmith, who is listed as six feet, 181 pounds, was drafted by the Knights in the fifth round (55th overall) of the 2023 Ontario Hockey League draft. He made his OHL debut last season collecting three assists in nine games. He spent most of the season with the London Nationals of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League where he had 12 goals and 28 points in 32 games as a rookie.
The IceDogs are home to Guelph Thursday and Flint Friday.
